This tripod slider bar is a simple device. Normally, when you attach your camera to a tripod, you screw the ¼” bolt from the tripod into the hole on the bottom of your camera. With this, you can screw the bolt into this bar, and you now have 3 additional bolts that can slide left or right before tightening into position (or forward and backward if you position it on the Y axis instead of the X axis or upward and downward on the Z axis if you position the bar up and down).This would be useful if you wanted to attach multiple cameras or if you wanted to attach lights or a microphone. You could probably get several of these bars, which is just a flat piece of metal, and attach them all together if you wanted to create some crazy set-up with a bunch of different devices.As far as I can tell, this is a nice quality piece. I don’t know what could cause it to fail. The metal seems thick and durable, and the bolts are metal. There aren’t any burrs or anything. It says it’s made of aluminum, so unless there is some iron in it somewhere, it should be rust proof, but if you’re getting this wet, that may be the least of your problems. It’s dark in color, so it shouldn’t be too reflective if you are using lights. It’s easy to use and versatile. I’d imagine that it would be readily apparent from the pictures what you could do with it and whether it would be useful to you, so if all you are concerned about is whether this is a flimsy piece of junk or not, I would say not.

This tripod adapter/bracket is pretty well described in the listing here, with one exception, so I won’t repeat the physical details. The misleading part of the description is that it is a “camera slider,” which implies that it’s for video camera movement. That’s not what this is designed for.Instead, it’s a versatile way to attach multiple items like monitor, microphone, or lighting units to a tripod-mounted camera. True, the 1/4″-20 screws (pretty much standard in the industry for all kinds of accessories) slide along a slot, but that does not make it a “slider.”There are two female sockets for attaching this to a tripod. The standard 1/4″-20 and 3/8″ threads will fit just about any tripod out there.The bracket is nicely finished in black (which is a must to minimize reflections), and the accessory-mounting screws are solid and can be attached without tools. More devices could be added if there is room for them, with a 1/4”-20 screw available anywhere.Last, this bracket will be useful for people who want to mount cameras with a fold-down screen for live streaming or podcast use. These cameras’ screens are blocked by the tripod head. But with this bracket, the camera can be mounted off to one side with the monitor screen folded down and visible to the user.

Photography is terrific. But over time the collection of gear starts to grow. Microphones, extra lights, accessories and even extra cameras can find ways into the photographer’s collection. And there are only so many devices that can be connected to the camera’s hot or cold shoe. (One to be exact.)In my case, I often use multiple cameras at film shoots. Sometimes this is for safety shots, Sometimes it is because one camera is recording video while the other is shooting stills. In the past this mean dragging along extra tripods to the location. However, the iBOLT 10 inch Tripod Camera Slider Bar allows me to mount up to three cameras on the same tripod. Or, if I prefer, I can mount a single camera with an external microphone and a monitor. This is very convenient. Sometimes it is even more convenient than using a camera rig, (A camera rig is another way to mount multiple accessories to a camera.)The iBOLT 10 inch Tripod Camera Slider Bar appears to be sturdy and well made. However, as other reviewers have suggested, the term “slider bar” is misleading. The slider allows the various accessories to be moved into their most appropriate places on the bar. It is not intended to actually slide the camera.
