This AC adapter works perfectly for my PowerShot S5 IS. I was looking for a way to take extended video recordings without draining a large amount of batteries and this definitely fit the bill. It seems a bit flimsy, so I’ve been handling it with care at all times, but it functions as it should. For the price you really can’t go wrong; you’ll make your money back in battery-savings alone.

Yet again an adapter to free a device from batteries. Back in the day they would make these things of such flimsy materials they would fall apart in a month.Not the case here. This unit and cords are sturdy.I take a lot of videos of various pottery processes in my studio using the Cannon S31S mounted on a tripod.Batteries always fail after 30 minutes and this device produces constant power, hour after hour. The attachment cords give a full 10 ‘ of roaming room and do not get in the way.Cords store very conveniently.The small quite light weight brick tends to warm ever so slightly so do not cover it.Unit uses 110V. Now the cords.the 2 prong molded USA/Canada plug cord is ready to go.The other end plugs securely into the brick.The camera patch cord coming from the brick is permanently bonded to same. The other end inserts into the S31S.
