I own the GoPro Hero 3+ and love it but the Hero 4 Silver is fantastic. I love the touch display on the back and purchasing this in the Moto bundle saved me $$$ I highly recommend this purchase. Once you start using your GoPro camera you will never go back, the High Definition Video is great but I use mine as a camera because of the exciting quality photos I can take. I just recently returned from a cruise and used the camera to capture some incredible photos in the water, underwater, and everywhere I went.

Chosen this one because of the built-in display (huge advantage). I purchased it Feb.5 and received it Feb. 7 and up to this day upon using this the first problem I encountered is the unit won’t power on (Feb 9). Knowing the battery was fully charged and yet powering it up seems futile. I was able to find some related solution in a certain video web channel and I hope the problem won’t happen again sometime. I wish GOPRO can look at his matter regarding power-on failure, but other than that problem, HERO 4 silver was very handy and a great camera to be using it even everyday on anything.

For those considering the Black or Silver I went down that route.I chose the Silver since I do not need 4K recording and most non pros do not need it. Most people cannot even play it.Even 1080 Super Wide 60fps I use on the Silver cannot be played in most media players without being choppy. But the GoPro software easily views and edits it.The back screen is handy for photos and to setup.Ok so there has been complaints about battery life. For those people they need to get a simpler camera. There is just no way to have all this processing power (high res and framer rates need power) in a small package. Some mount on a car or bar so they do not feel it but a helmet or body or skis, etc you need it light. So there has to be a compromise.I do not see the issue with the battery. After 1 hour or more depending on your settings swap out the battery. If your in a race that’s long then get the backpack battery but most people are not going or need to record that long before taking a break.Understand the technical limitations with high res and battery and change the battery when you take a break, etc. No big deal.If you want battery life then get a large bulky cam from another vendor or get a small cam with crappy resolution. Either way you lose.Sometimes you need to understand where the technology is today and accept the limitations. One day we will have unlimited battery life but not today. And GoPro is still the best in the game!I always want the best and was ready to get the black and glad I got the Silver. Way more than I need and 1080 SuperWide is crisp and clear. This camera even does more I believe it will do 4k at a lower frame but who needs that resolution unless your making it for the big screen theatres or Imax. This is the perfect camera, screen and quality!

The Camera is very cool. My GoPro and its very cool. The touchscreen display is cool and pretty easy to use once you figure out what buttons to push. The videos turn out really great. I wish it would give you a beep or something to let you know a few minutes before the battery dies. You will be filming and all of the sudden you look and its dead. Then some of the video you wanted you did not get. I use it all the time. Use it for snowboarding and for fishing.Check out my YouTube channel.
