The Gobe Polarizer and UV filter kit is an essential piece of equipment. Nearly every time I am out shooting in the daylight I have the polarizer on my lens, and the UV filter protects the lens when I don’t need the polarizer. I have used filters that are 4x the price as this one and there are very little differences between them. The packaging of this kit is beautiful and environmentally friendly, and Gobe has an excellent business model which plants 5 trees for every product that is purchased. Super happy with this product! Perfect for anyone looking for a filter at a fair price.

These filters work perfectly for me. No visible reflections when pointer towards light sources. Clean threads, so they fit perfectly. The front and back caps keep the filters clean and save during transport or when not in use. Environmentally friendly packaging, but it’s quite sufficient to protect the filters from shipping damage or for use when stored.

Like others, I find Gobe filters to be flawless and of satisfyingly high quality. I have a survival story to add. I was up on our telescope dome catwalk at work, doing an on/off comparison with the polarizer on some fall golden foliage colors in the forest below, when a gust of wind and my own clumsiness whisked the filter out of my hand. It fell, uninterrupted, the full three and a half stories to the ground below, landing smack on the glass face, not the rim. Onto the *rocks* on the ground below. Three and a half stories. Rocks. Up on the catwalk, the clear-as-a-bell *ting!* of glass hitting rock was unmistakable and dreadful. When I went back down and retrieved the filter, thinking surely I had just destroyed my brand new filter, all it had was a 1mm long scratch on the glass. The scratch is small enough that, try as I might, I cannot detect it in photos of various evenly illuminated backgrounds. Whew.So, kudos, Gobe (and Schott), for making a remarkably tough filter, which survived a three and a half story fall onto rocks with only a minor cosmetic scratch where the glass face hit a rock upon landing. I am stunned that the glass did not shatter or crack. Henceforth, I will be buying only Gobe filters.

The filters just work without getting in the way. There is no color cast and the anti-reflective coatings appear to be very effective. I’m familiar with Schott glass from my career in industrial tech, and Schott knows what they’re doing. I also really appreciate that these filters came with screw-on caps. The caps make for a very secure and compact assembly, perfect for tucking into your camera bag. Gobe has become my go-to source for lens filters.

Both of these filters are well-designed to minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses. However the threads on the CPL filter are too slim to mount securely on my new Nikon 200-500mm Zoom Telephoto without positioning the fixed section so deeply into the lens threads that it cannot be removed. Great looking set of filters but I just can’t take the risks of stuck filters! I promptly returned the set. I couldn’t ask for better service from both Gobe and Amazon.
