I thought they’d be fairly tough metal but the firs time I used one, it broke in half! Didn’t put that much pressure on it. Not very pleased. I bought solid brass before but it was heavier. This is just not made for what I wanted to use it for!Update Sepember 5, 2018: Seller contacted me over my original 3 stars and asked why. I explained how one unit broke the first time I used it. Seller asked for a picture showing the damage. I sent him one showing the weak point and he promised to have the manufacturer make a better quality part. That’s why I gave it another star. One was defective and the other one seems to be working fine but the seller was fantastic!

Using this for an odd application, raising up a mic on a GoPro cage with a cold shoe mount. Works perfectly fine and the cold shoe adapter locks in really good.
