It normally uses batteries that last about 2 hours with continuous use. I can connect this camera to my William Optics Redcat 51 telescope. Being an astrophotographer I have all ZWO support equipment for DSO imaging. The ZWO ASIAIR Plus app supports the use of a Nikon Z6ii camera (but so far not the Z8 which I also have). So, I can set up this camera and optics rig for all night remote access imaging. If I used batteries, I’d have to go out to the telescope every two hours and change the batteries. However, with the EL15 Dummy Battery I don’t have to. It tricks the camera into operating as though it has batteries. This product actually uses a 110VAC or USB connection to power the camera. It’s like having a battery that DOES NOT DISCHARGE! This lets me run the camera and rig right up to just before daybreak unattended. I do this because once I set up my imaging rigs I like to go to sleep. Now I can use the Z6ii for this and just let it run all night.I had no idea this kind of device was available. Am very pleased to find it and order one.
