Ever since I bought my Canon FtB2 back in 1970 I’ve known that Canon, Inc. demands a lot for their branded products. And their products are good, no doubt about it. But close to 300 dollars for a couple of pieces of bent steel and rubber?!? REALLY? I do not own this, I’d love to have the utility of it for my 60D, and I’m sure it works great, but at the price being asked I’d have to sell my similarly overpriced Speedlite 430 EX ii to pay for the damn thing. This is just so “in your face” to their customers, I think Canon deserves this rant. So there. I hope they choke on it. (I feel better now).

This is a very robust bracket. It is very unlikely to ever fail. It is awkward to set up for the first time. I Would recommend that you practice setting it up at a table for the first time. It will likely NEVER mechanically fail unless abused. It adds weight to the camera. It is the BEST solution for pro use. I have tried many brackets over time ( Over 30 years), It will outlast any bracket ever made. It is best used by assembling and mounting to camera body and leaving it on the camera forever!!! It does not block any ports and feels right. I use it with a Canon EOS 7D Mark II. I use the camera with the the battery BG-E1 grip Battery with two LP-E6N Batteries installed. I have and use two bodies configured this way and have no issues. Coupled with very large memory sticks, I can shoot all day never fatigued, but never miss a shot!!! To Having two identical bodies reduces operator confusion. One body has a telephoto, 70-200 the other body has an 17-50mm lens. These canon cameras have never let me down!!! Over 200,000 shutter clicks ..
