This kit is super useful. Even if you only do simple / basic lens repairs or optics work, this kit is worth the price. The sizes are generally accurate (says a micrometer) but the size may not fit the lens size with the same accessory aperture. Because of that, it’s helpful to have a few sizes available. And of course, buying just one is basically one-third the cost of the kit, so might as well buy-em-all (hums pokémon theme: I wanna beeeee the very best-uh)Works well for spinning lens elements, and also a handy place on which to stand a partially disassembled lens while working on it.There is a decent amount of flash (overflow) on the parting lines of the finished parts. It looks sloppy, but doesn’t effect how they work. Probably appropriate for the price of the kit.In all, something you should have in your toolbox if lens work is something you ever intend to do.

Bought these to help with disassembly/cleaning of a couple of older camera lenses, a Sigma 400mm and a Tokina 80-200 zoom. First things first: people say they are too slick, so I washed them in warm water and detergent to get rid of any mold release agent that might be on them from manufacture – also a good way to get them apart. Another tip: when lenses are assembled, they often put some lacquer in the threads of the lens cells, which pretty much glues them in – it is very difficult to get these to move with a friction tool like this, or even a lens wrench without dissolving the lacquer with some acetone – not a failure of the tool, just the way it is! I used a needle/syringe with acetone for that. Next – some lenses are ‘deep’, like telephotos – you may need a lens wrench as well as these to reach deeper elements – best to have both really, so you don’t get stuck halfway through! All in all these worked very well, and were the only viable option for some lens cells that don’t have slots for a wrench at all. Size wise – I was always able to find the right size tool for the varying sizes of lens cells I worked on. Now that I have these I’m sure I could tackle any lens.

I bought some yellow plastic lens tools (sold by DSLRKIT as rubber but definitely more hard plastic than rubber) here on Amazon in January 2020 after a review for this product said these grey ones ruined an expensive lens. The yellow plastic ones don’t grip much and I would call them terrible.These grey ones seem to be exactly what I wished I bought the first time. These seem to be rubber, soft, and grippy. If they turn out to be duds, I will instantly change this review. Mine came from OEC Camera Accessories. Good luck with your quest for the perfect lens gripper/holder. My quest is done.
